Wrapped

Design is for a large part concerned about doing more with less. The wrapped side table is an attempt to see how far I could take this idea.

The result is a three dimensional object formed out of a single sheet of 5mm thick bendable plywood. It is designed for optimal use of its material properties and avoiding production waste. As the name suggests, by wrapping the sheet around two cut-out shelves, a light but strong object is created. Because the shelves are supported 360 degrees all around, it is strong enough to carry heavy objects such as large books or plants, despite its thin thickness.
